Nudge the Seed 2-3-10

Do you -

-remember well, the mustard seed -
so trivial and small?
Has our faith ever touched it yet -
or been close by at all?
Mere faith can move the mountains high,
and beckons at the call.

Remember well, the miracle
when Jesus calmed the storm?
Could once, we simply execute -
or tiny one perform?
How close could be our little faith
from halting one life storm.

Remember well, protection when -
God came with comforts aid?
Now bow we ever lowly for
mistakes so great we've made.
We ask for one more miracle
and humbly we have prayed.

With trouble, insurmountable -
will faith to death now bleed?
No! God provides for many 'wants',
supplies our every need!
Will our faith move the mountains too -
if we don't nudge the seed?"

First nurtured deep in grace and soul,
and watered too, must be -
then with a perseverance -
faith grows a mighty tree -
to carry off the mountain,
and throw it to the sea.

"But the seed in the good soil, these are the ones who have heard the word in an honest and good heart, and hold it fast, and bear fruit with perseverance."

This Harp 11-18-09

The dust completely covered
the memories of old,
as I sat in my attic,
as melodies turned cold -
though still completely faithful
for all these many years,
I had no lone ability
to perk up hungry ears.

Until the seed was planted,
forgiven all, times seven -
until I grew through practice -
a harvest seen in Heaven -
until revived with water -
until restored with oil -
this harp was all but worthless,
lacked spirit through my toil.

BUT THEN set to a purpose
and held in humble love,
full notes created music
which floated high above.
This harp exposed a message,
and melodies took wing -
but only when His fingers
strummed each and every string.

Psalm 147 (KJV) 6 The LORD lifteth up the meek: he casteth the wicked down to the ground.
7 Sing unto the LORD with thanksgiving; sing praise upon the harp unto our God:
8 Who covereth the heaven with clouds, who prepareth rain for the earth, who maketh grass to grow upon the mountains.

Mustard Seed Christian 2-2-09

For God so loved the world, why?
-merely so His Son could die?
What did the serpent represent?
And why to earth was Jesus sent?
Heads [for years] theologians spun,
convincing Christians they had won,
so easy thoughts we now regard -
where grace is free - and faith, not hard.

Dividing Christians from the rest,
should God give us a 'free-will' test?
For faith is what God's looking for,
as saving grace He has out-poured.
Does He choose the ones to bury,
and the faith that others carry -
or does He choose the faithful son,
whose life is still a fruitful one?

For son, daughter, mother, father -
an everlasting spring of water.
While no one falls away from grace,
faith is something some replace.
Though none are taken from His hand,
we cannot build on sinking sand.
We want our drive-ups and fast food -
salvation likewise, we include.

Many will hear (as they forgot);
"Depart from me, I knew you not."
And that's why many will be lost...
they [know not love] at any cost.
Though "ye, of little faith" we hear,
many shun it year to year.
If, to the world, we embrace -
there is no faith and is no grace.

Love and service is in our hands,
if we hold faith, heed His commands.
Love is service, faith grows fruit.
A mustard seed must grow its root.
A mustard seed has water needs -
but water needs no mustard seeds.
If grace is water, faith can root,
so follow Christ and produce fruit.

What do we VALUE? 3-10-08

We love money to extreme - and to get more we plan our scheme.
Expectancy has blinded us - yet in excitement, hear us scream.
Where's our faith? Can we not see? The stars can't blind a single flea.
Possessions should not steal the heart for that is where our God should be.

We love sports to the extreme and know the players on each team.
Predictions grip has deafened us - yet when the game starts, hear us scream.
Where's our trust? Can we not hear? Noise can't conquer day or year,
Screaming will not change God's time and soon our echoes disappear.

We love sales to the extreme, the malls and such can fill a dream.
Foresight makes us worldly, dumb - yet in excitement, hear us scream.
Where's our mind? Are we not real? The smallest spokes connect the wheel.
Touch the nail prints on His hands and tell me Jesus cannot feel.

We love life to it's extreme and love our time (so it may seem).
Anticipations make us squirm - yet water's nothing to the cream!
Ponder this if you should care - that spears can't conquer any air.
Several things can break our knees - but can they bend for any prayer?

and what is our WORTH?

Some say God is too profound - He can't be known, He can't be found.
It's then that I must ask myself if my priorities are sound...
"Have I loved the "least of these", as Jesus did (to God's degree)?
And do I now "so love the world" or do I love, but only me?"

"Can I not see my Savior bleed? Do God’s commandments I not heed?
Have I been focused on myself? Am I even worth one mustard seed?"
We all know that - Gods grace is free, but He knows not - the worldly.
Mustard seeds can never boast, yet God lifts you and He lifts me.
