A Blind Man 2-11-09

It's a privilege to see all the colors abound,
a rainbow of colors of things all around.
My empathy cries out for those who can't see,
and dreading the thought if it happened to me.

I'm thankful for God and His infinite love,
from flowers below and the rainbow above,
but this man was blind from birth until now,
before Jesus came and then healed him how?

He lived in full darkness. No light he had seen.
Can you just imagine location and scene?
Can you imagine the thought of it all?
Spitting in dust, making clay they recall.

And of all days on Sabbath - believe it or not,
the Pharasee's angry. They argued a lot.
They questioned the blind man and his parents too.
They heard all the facts but still hadn't a clue.

He told them the truth but they didn't believe.
They asked him again and then told him to leave.
Those who had eyes were so totally blind,
but Jesus took blindness, rekindled the mind.

It's a privilege to see all the colors abound,
the rainbow of colors of things all around.
My empathy cries out for those who aren't free,
so have faith in Jesus and make yourself see!!

Our God Reigns! 4-10-08

Mary was a virgin the angel did adorn...
and Christ was born. (Luke 1)
Peter and Andrew, fishermen, and in the net they hauled...
for Jesus called. (Matt 4)
The storm was fierce. On deck the waves had swept...
but Jesus slept. (Matt 8)
The disciples were frightened and thought that they'd be killed...
but Jesus stilled. (Matt 8)
Seeing something on the water Peter questioned, talked...
but Jesus walked. (Matt 14)
So Peter stepped out - and tried he would...
but Jesus could. (Matt 14)
A multitude, five thousand! The disciples unprepared...
but Jesus shared. (Matt 14)
There were only two fish and five loaves of bread...
but Jesus fed. (Matt 14)
Lazarus had died. Four days in a tomb, was kept...
and Jesus wept. (John 11)
They thought it all impossible. They had it all appraised...
But Jesus raised. (John 11)
The disciples would not realize and off to sleep they'd fade...
but Jesus prayed. (Mark 14)
The cup didn't pass and betrayed by a kiss...
Would He remiss? (Luke 22)
Pilate questioned. He hurt the peoples pride...
so Jesus died. (Matt 27)
To stop another miracle, because He many healed...
the stone was sealed. (Matt 27)
The linen lay there neatly. The stone was rolled away...
to their dismay. (Matt 28)
Though dead from head down to His toes...
yes, Jesus rose. (Matt 28)
A lifetime full of miracles - yet some still doubted much...
so Thomas touched. (John 20)
A still, small voice is calling, though the world hates -
He still awaits. (1 Kings 19)
Jesus healed many. The faithful He forgives -
because He lives! (Matt 28)
He loosens all sins darkest chains.
Yes, hallelujah! Our God reigns! (Psalm 47)

The Missing Ingredient 1-3-07

God, the covenant, and man –
the law in stone was cast.
Man broke the covenant of old,
before Moses breathed his last.

A new covenant began,
that man might touch the scars.
But man’s broken the newest one -
brought wrath down from His stars.

So what are we to do today?
Sufficient is God's grace.
But whats the missed ingredient
as we sit in disgrace?

To fulfill God's newest covenant -
takes more than prayer and singing.
Although our God so loved the world,
there's more than "grace believing".

Yes, we made our decision and,
for sure our works are dead,
So now upon foundation's rock
of belief we move ahead.

But alas! the demons believe,
as they all cringe and shutter,
So we call out all the experts,
search books through endless clutter.

Has every soul on Earth been saved?
Was assurance known by Saul?
Did something cure his blindness?
Did he change his name to Paul?

God performed His gracious act.
It was by Him alone.
By grace ye are saved through faith.
So let your faith be shown.

Faith is the missing ingredient,
in God's covenant with man,
-separating man from demons,
completing His full plan.

Do not let Satan deceive you –
blowing breezes to and fro.
The world grabs for grace alone,
but they need pure faith also.

Remember, Jesus healed the sick.
Their faith had made them well.
They then went out and told the world.
What stories they could tell!

Faith is the assurance of things hoped for,
the conviction of things not seen.
We have to throw out other gods -
and on Jesus’ name must lean.

Romans 3:
21But now apart from the Law the righteousness of God has been manifested, being witnessed by the Law and the Prophets, 22even the righteousness of God through faith in Jesus Christ for all those who believe; for there is no distinction; 23for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, 24being justified as a gift by His grace through the redemption which is in Christ Jesus; 25whom God displayed publicly as a propitiation in His blood through faith. This was to demonstrate His righteousness, because in the forbearance of God He passed over the sins previously committed; 26for the demonstration, I say, of His righteousness at the present time, so that He would be just and the justifier of the one who has faith in Jesus. 27Where then is boasting? It is excluded By what kind of law? Of works? No, but by a law of faith.
