The Miracle 6-17-10

My heart is very special,
and though it weighs a ton,
I'm careful as it's fragile -
for I have only one.

Though God is love and offers me
the great life I can live -
I first must ask forgiveness
before He will forgive.

However, if I'm hardened
and fail at all to feel -
certainly my tears won't fall
and bring my heart to heal.

So if my heart is harder,
I'll find I cannot cry.
But oh, to shed a single tear -
I'll give it one more try.

I won't despair and cry a lot -
it isn't God's intent,
but if guilt still has season here,
I'll prayerfully repent.

And then perhaps, if flood gates fall,
and tears like rivers flow -
through the valley, shadow's death,
in humbleness, I'll grow.

Jesus loves me, this I know -
throughout these many years -
and on the cross He proved it so -
through all His many tears.

And if my heart I give Him,
while I am torn apart -
He will cup His holy hands
and hold my broken heart.

Peace will grow inside me
as angels soar aloft -
but I won't see the miracle
unless my heart is soft.

Mark 6:5 (NASB) And He could do no miracle there except that He laid His hands on a few sick people and healed them.

The Greatest Of Poems! 4-29-09

If I could write
the greatest of poems
which opened all sinners eyes,
I'd soar in a plane,
drop leaflets like rain
from way up here in the skies!

I'd scream from the hilltops,
yell across plains -
although some might think me insane -
I'd holler right out,
with every loud shout,
for silence I could not contain!

Yes, this very poem
if it, I could write,
I'd sing from each mountain top -
the highest of height,
from morning to night,
until, exhausted, I'd drop.

But what if I couldn't
write such a poem?
And what if my poem should fail?
Well, here's the great sting,
of not even trying -
that Satan, for sure, would prevail.

Now this is the reason
it cannot be done:
I'd be speaking in English to birds...
But they have a choice
with God's still, small voice -
without my vain efforts in words.

Birds can't speak English,
God made them that way.
We're only to go and plant seed.
Then while on the ground
they peck all around
until they find Jesus indeed!

So print this mere poem,
a 'seed' not the greatest
and tell all your friends that it's true.
Please let them all know,
that God loves them so -
then mention that I love them too.

A Little Lesson 11-18-07

Do we attempt to “create” our own God? because we think we know what He should be doing or what is best for us or our “religion”? With all the mistakes I make, I’m glad God doesn’t always answer my prayers the way I think they should be answered….
---

I learned a little lesson. Let me share it with you now.
I should have told you years ago but didn't know quite how.

God is like the sunshine that blesses us for years,
Jesus, like the ocean breeze that dries our several tears.

God is faithful to us all. He doesn't fail or stray
He is like the morning sun that rises every day.

Jesus knows our troubles. He knows our every hope.
He knows which crosses we can bear. He knows that we can cope.

While death is like the darkness with troubles everywhere.
Life is like the sunshine - its brightness we all share.

This little lesson I had learned before my final day -
that I am not the 'Potter' - and God is not the clay.

Isaiah 29: 15-16 (NASB)
15Woe to those who deeply hide their plans from the LORD, And whose deeds are done in a dark place, And they say, "Who sees us?" or "Who knows us?"
16You turn things around! Shall the potter be considered as equal with the clay,
That what is made would say to its maker, "He did not make me"; Or what is formed say to him who formed it, "He has no understanding"

Decisions, Decisions 12-20-05

Some decisions in my life are easy - black and white.
It doesn't take much to compare the sun from the black night.

I know what’s light and heavy. I know what’s short and long.
I know what’s hot and cold - but do I always know what's wrong?

Sometimes it seems impossible in life's big, endless fight;
and sometimes still, I ask myself, should I turn left or to my right?

Problems fill my mixed up head. My decisions seem so frail;
and sometimes I can do what's right - but often times I fail.

If the road we're on is winding, and leads back to you or me;
it's time we fully understand that it's all futility.

And if that isn't bad enough, Satan pulls our bending ear;
tells us what to do and think, makes us want and makes us fear.

He claims the world and all unrest, all hate and greed abound.
Sometimes it makes me wonder - if God is still around.

Not looking to the one, true God - that I hide on a shelf;
it's then my faith is failing – looking only to myself.

It’s also when I am most troubled. Nothing lights my way;
nor is there much that I can do, except to humbly pray.

So when I have no place to turn, surrounded by the sea;
I reach my hands to heaven, and grasp the golden key!

God will always tell me - and deep inside I know -
that I'm my biggest problem as I'm tossed to and fro.

So when I know not where to turn - from sin and shame I flee;
it's then that I can see the light, and follow faithfully.

For faithfully, His still, small voice, is now my every clue;
so I don’t focus on this earth, but out beyond the blue.

Isaiah 11:3-5 (NASB)
3And He will delight in the fear of the LORD, And He will not judge by what His eyes see, Nor make a decision by what His ears hear; 4But with righteousness He will judge the poor, And decide with fairness for the afflicted of the earth; And He will strike the earth with the rod of His mouth, And with the breath of His lips He will slay the wicked. 5Also righteousness will be the belt about His loins, And faithfulness the belt about His waist.

The Failure 11-2-05

Oh Lord, I have failed you.
Oh Lord, I have failed you.
Oh Lord, I have failed you.

I failed as a child.
I failed as a man.
I have failed as an old man.

Oh Lord, I have failed you.
Oh Lord, I have failed you.
Oh Lord, I have failed you.

I failed as a neighbor.
I failed as a father.
I failed as a husband.

Oh Lord, have mercy on me.
Oh Lord, have mercy on me.
Oh Lord, have mercy on me.

I failed the church.
I failed the pastor.
I failed You.

Oh Lord, have mercy on me.
Oh Lord, have mercy on me.
Oh Lord, have mercy on me.

I failed You yesterday.
I failed You today.
I fail tomorrow.

Oh Lord, forgive me.
Oh Lord, forgive me.
Oh Lord, forgive me.

I fail You when I think.
I fail You when I speak.
I fail You when I act.

Oh Lord, forgive me.
Oh Lord, forgive me.
Oh Lord, forgive me.

I fail You when I am happy.
I fail You when I am angry.
I fail You when I cry.

2 Corinthians 12:9 (NASB)
9And He has said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for power is perfected in weakness " Most gladly, therefore, I will rather boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may dwell in me.
